Short Biography
Yeongmi Kim was born in Donghae, Gwangwon, South Korea in 1980. She received her B.Sc. in Control and Instrumentation Engineering in 2004 from the Korea Maritime University. Thereafter, she studied at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, where she received both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in Mechatronics Engineering in 2006 and 2010, respectively.
During her Ph.D. work, she developed tactile displays and haptic authoring tools to support immersive haptic multimedia applications, such as a haptic broadcasting or haptic movie systems.
She joined the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab in May 2010.
