Short Biography

Bogdan Vigaru was born in Romania in 1981. He received an engineering diploma in Automatic Control and Electrical Engineering from University of Craiova in 2006. Subsequently, he studied Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, focusing on image-guidance in surgical robotics, especially MRI-guided medical devices. After completing his M.Sc. degree in December 2008, he worked as a research engineer at the Center for Integrated Surgical Systems and Technology (CISST) at Johns Hopkins, where he was mainly involved in mechanical design using CAD technologies.

In September 2009 Bogdan joined the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab as a PhD student, where his research interests are related to neuroscience robotics, primarily investigating new possibilities in rehabilitation techniques for fine motor control using fMRI compatible robotic devices.
